Deb Cossaart grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She moved to Vermont in 1989 and later earned her Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Vermont College. She worked at Project Independence in Middlebury until her move to Kansas seven years ago. While in the Midwest she helped create and develop the Arts Council of Thayer County, a nonprofit group organized to restore and operate the historic small-town Majestic movie theater in Hebron, Nebraska. For the past 10 years she has enjoyed working with her husband, Jim, as business and office administrator for their dental practices. She also greatly appreciated her education on the Kansas ranch where she learned how to help deliver calves, fix fences and dig thistles. Here in Vermont Deb loves walking with her dog, Grady, yoga, reading and traveling. She and Jim are proud new grandparents of little Elliot Theodore who lives in Brooklyn with his parents.
